Qualification for the healthcare profession of biomedical laboratory technician
The programme in a nutshell
The aim of this programme is to train health professionals able to carry out, within the scope of their competence, laboratory activities relating to biochemical, biotechnological, microbiome, virological, pharmacotoxicological, immunological, clinical-pathological, haematological, genetical, immunometric analyses including radioimmunological, cytopathological, pathological-anatomical and histopathological techniques, with responsibility for the technical field of the services, in accordance with current regulations.
The educational objective ofthis programme is to provide students with the basics for the knowledge of biological and pathological phenomena, the learning of the operating principles of analytical instrumentation, the methodological and clinical pathology bases, including pharmacotoxicological and pharmaceutical galenic, biotechnological, immunohaematologicalanalyses, immunometric analyses with radioimmunological method, genetic and anatomocytopathologyanalyses and septic room, the principles of laboratory safety and radioprotection.
All the types of training activities envisaged by the regulations contribute to achieving the learning objectives specified by the Descriptors of the European Framework for Qualifications (Dublin Descriptors).
