The degree programme includes 12 ECTS in the study plan, to be taken between the second and third year of the programme, to be allocated to free-choice activities by the student.
These credits give students the opportunity to complete their preparation in the field of social work with professional training activities, enriching it with knowledge relevant to social work, which derives from encounters with field, work and life experiences.
Free-choice activities for which the student may apply for accreditation are, for example:
- Additional periods of internship or experimental work experience.
- Activities such as voluntary work, community service and workshops, seminars or certified training courses related to social work, organised by the University or other bodies.
- Workshops organised specifically for students in the Sciences for Social Work degree programme, on topics that vary over the years. For example: personal training, bereavement counselling, social work in the field of alcohol-related problems, dementia, immigration, independent living for people with disabilities, with families in debt, in prisons.
- As a residual option, free-choice activities may consist of additional university courses, with the corresponding profit exams.
