The teaching of religion, given within the framework of Higher Institute of Religious Sciences objectives, must have an educational and cultural perspective equal to that of the other disciplines. This teaching must be provided in accordance with the doctrine of the Church by professors/lectures recognised as suitable by the ecclesiastical authority and in possession of appropriate professional qualifications (Nuova Intesa CEI-MIUR, 28 June 2012).
The Higher Institute of Religious Sciences is promoted by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano at our campus of Brescia.
Its aim is the training in theological knowledge, on a strictly scientific level, of qualified pastoral workers, with particular attention to the aspects of religious education and lay ministries.
The programmes in Religious Studies, linked with the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy - Milan, are a first cycle of academic studies (the Baccalaureate Course in Religious Sciences) plus a second-cycle course (the Licentiate Course in Religious Sciences) (3+2).
